Job Overview
The Nursing Cleaner is responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation throughout the healthcare facility. The role supports hospital operations by ensuring patient rooms, common areas, washrooms, and other assigned locations remain clean, organized, and disinfected according to established healthcare standards.
Healthcare facilities require strict cleaning procedures to reduce the spread of infections and provide a safe environment for everyone. As part of the environmental services team, you will perform daily cleaning duties using approved cleaning methods and disinfectants while following hospital protocols.
This position requires attention to detail, consistency, responsibility, and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties may include, but are not limited to:
– Clean and sanitize patient rooms according to hospital cleaning procedures.
– Sweep, mop, vacuum, and disinfect floors in assigned areas.
– Wipe and disinfect patient beds, bedside tables, chairs, cabinets, and other furniture.
– Clean high-touch surfaces including door handles, switches, railings, telephones, and equipment.
– Empty rubbish bins and dispose of waste according to hospital waste management procedures.
– Replace garbage bags and maintain cleanliness of waste collection points.
– Replenish consumable supplies such as tissue paper, hand soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, gloves, and other hygiene products.
– Clean and disinfect public washrooms, patient bathrooms, sinks, mirrors, toilets, urinals, shower areas, and floors.
– Maintain cleanliness of hospital corridors, waiting areas, nursing stations, staff offices, consultation rooms, elevators, staircases, and other common areas.
– Ensure all assigned cleaning equipment is properly maintained and stored after use.
– Use approved cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly.
– Report damaged equipment, maintenance issues, or safety hazards to supervisors immediately.
– Follow infection prevention and control procedures at all times.
– Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) whenever required.
– Assist with additional cleaning tasks assigned by supervisors during daily operations.
– Ensure work is completed according to the required cleaning schedule and quality standards.
– Cooperate with nurses, supervisors, and other healthcare staff to maintain a safe and clean environment.
– Maintain professionalism and respect patient privacy and confidentiality while performing cleaning duties.
