HOSPITAL FOOD SERVER

POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Hospital Food Server, you will play an important role in ensuring that patients receive the correct meals according to their dietary requirements and medical conditions. You will work closely with the Kitchen Department, Dietetics Department, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide efficient and high-quality meal services.
Besides delivering meals, you will also provide excellent customer service, assist patients with meal-related enquiries, and ensure that every patient enjoys a pleasant dining experience during their stay in the hospital.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties:
- Take meal orders from patients accurately.
- Verify patient information before serving meals.
- Deliver meals to hospital wards according to scheduled meal times.
- Ensure every patient receives the correct meal based on dietary instructions.
- Clear meal trays after patients have finished eating.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene throughout the meal service process.
- Coordinate with the Kitchen Department regarding meal preparation and delivery.
- Liaise with the Dietetics Department regarding special diets, food allergies, and meal modifications.
- Follow all hospital meal service procedures and operational guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and infection control standards.
- Build good relationships with patients through friendly and professional service.
- Respond to patient enquiries politely and efficiently.
- Handle complaints and feedback professionally and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain accurate meal service records when required.
- Achieve departmental service quality standards and Key Performance Indicators (KPI).
- Attend all required training sessions and refresher courses.
- Assist in the orientation and training of newly hired employees.
- Learn and operate the EMOS meal ordering system.
- Perform administrative duties assigned by supervisors.
- Support daily operational activities whenever required.
- Carry out any additional duties assigned by the Management.
WORKING SCHEDULE
- 6 working days per week.
- Rotating shift schedule.
- Morning Shift:
- 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
- Afternoon Shift:
- 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM
- Rest day according to company roster.
- Candidates must be willing to work weekends and public holidays whenever scheduled.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants should possess the following qualifications:
- Minimum 2 to 5 years of relevant working experience.
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, food service, healthcare support, retail, hotels, restaurants, or related industries is preferred.
- Service-oriented with a positive attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and supervisors.
- Responsible, disciplined, and punctual.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Strong teamwork skills.
- Good problem-solving ability.
- Physically fit and able to stand or walk for long periods.
- Comfortable working in a hospital environment.
- Willing to learn new systems and procedures.
- Able to handle a fast-paced working environment.
- Professional appearance and good personal hygiene.
