KITCHEN ASSISTANT – IMMEDIATE HIRING

Location: Square 2 | Clementi Mall | Hougang Mall, Singapore
Employment Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Salary: SGD $2,400–$3,000 per month (salary will be determined based on working hours, relevant experience, performance, and operational requirements)

As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the daily kitchen operations and ensuring that all food preparation processes are carried out efficiently while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace safety. You will work closely with supervisors and team members to provide customers with a pleasant dining experience through efficient kitchen operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of ingredients including washing, peeling, cutting, slicing, and portioning vegetables, meat, seafood, and other food items.
  • Support chefs and kitchen staff in preparing meals according to company recipes and operating procedures.
  • Ensure ingredients are prepared accurately and on time before meal service begins.
  • Replenish ingredients and food supplies whenever required.
  • Handle stock ordering and monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient supplies are available for daily operations.
  • Receive, inspect, and properly store incoming food deliveries following company procedures.
  • Label, organize, and rotate food products according to food safety requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen workstations, preparation tables, storage areas, refrigerators, freezers, and food display areas.
  • Wash kitchen utensils, cookware, trays, cutting boards, containers, and equipment after use.
  • Dispose of waste appropriately and ensure rubbish disposal areas remain clean and organized.
  • Follow all food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety regulations at all times.
  • Ensure compliance with company food handling procedures and government food safety standards.
  • Assist with opening and closing duties before and after daily operations.
  • Support the team during busy meal periods by ensuring smooth kitchen workflow.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to maintain efficient daily operations.
  • Report equipment faults, maintenance issues, or stock shortages promptly.
  • Carry out any other ad hoc duties assigned by supervisors or management.

Requirements

  • Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is preferred.
  • Comfortable working in a coffeeshop environment.
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Responsible, reliable, and committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Able to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physically fit and able to stand for long hours when required.
  • Willing to work weekends, public holidays, or rotating shifts according to operational needs.
  • Previous kitchen or food and beverage experience is an advantage but not compulsory.
  • Candidates without experience are welcome to apply as full training will be provided.
