We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Kitchen Supervisor to join our professional culinary team in Singapore. As a Kitchen Supervisor, you will play a key role in supporting the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring smooth workflow during service, supervising kitchen staff, maintaining operational excellence, and working closely with the Sous Chef and management team to deliver an exceptional dining experience.

Work Location
VivoCity, Singapore
Conveniently located near HarbourFront MRT Station (NE1/CC29), providing easy accessibility through Singapore’s public transportation network.
Working Hours
- 6 Days Work Week
- Rotating Shift Schedule
- Operating Hours: 9:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- 8 Working Hours Per Day
- 44 Working Hours Per Week
- 45-Minute Meal Break
Shift schedules will be assigned according to operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities
The Kitchen Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring the efficient daily operation of the kitchen while maintaining exceptional food quality and operational standards.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supervise daily back-of-house kitchen operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Lead, motivate, and coordinate kitchen staff to achieve operational excellence.
- Support the Sous Chef in managing overall kitchen workflow and manpower allocation.
- Prepare, cook, and present menu items according to established recipes and company standards.
- Ensure consistency in food quality, taste, presentation, and portion control.
- Monitor food preparation processes to maintain high quality throughout every service period.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared within the required service timelines without compromising quality.
- Train, mentor, and coach junior chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants to enhance their culinary skills and productivity.
- Assist in evaluating staff performance and provide constructive feedback for continuous improvement.
- Promote teamwork and maintain positive working relationships within the kitchen team.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly operated, cleaned, and maintained.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance issues promptly.
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure sufficient stock is available for daily operations.
- Coordinate stock ordering and receiving with relevant departments.
- Practice proper inventory control and minimise food wastage.
- Ensure ingredients are stored correctly according to food safety standards.
- Maintain accurate stock rotation using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) practices.
- Conduct regular checks on food freshness and product quality.
- Ensure strict compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout all kitchen areas.
- Ensure compliance with Singapore food hygiene and food safety regulations.
- Monitor workplace safety and ensure staff follow safe working procedures.
- Assist during busy meal periods by supporting various kitchen stations whenever necessary.
- Work closely with management to improve operational efficiency and kitchen productivity.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing food quality and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain professionalism while handling operational challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or in a similar supervisory kitchen role.
- Proven experience working in a professional commercial kitchen.
- Culinary certification or formal culinary education will be an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine and cooking techniques is highly preferred.
- Excellent understanding of food preparation, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.
- Good knowledge of food hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Ability to supervise, motivate, and develop kitchen team members.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities.
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively during busy service periods.
- Positive attitude with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Physically fit and able to stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and high-volume kitchen environment.
- Willing to work rotating shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by operational needs.
