POSITION OVERVIEW

BHC Chicken is currently looking for reliable, hardworking and responsible individuals to join the kitchen team as Dishwashers at Jewel Changi Airport.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the kitchen team by handling dishwashing, cleaning kitchen equipment, maintaining the dishwashing area and assisting with general kitchen cleaning duties.

This position is suitable for candidates who are comfortable with active kitchen work and are looking for a full-time employment opportunity in a convenient location at Jewel Changi Airport.

Previous experience is not required. Candidates who are new to kitchen or restaurant work are welcome to apply, as training and guidance will be provided.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Dishwashing Duties

The Dishwasher will be responsible for ensuring that all used kitchen items are cleaned properly and are ready for reuse.

Daily duties may include:

• Washing plates, bowls, cups and other dining items.
• Cleaning forks, spoons, knives and other utensils.
• Washing trays and food preparation containers.
• Cleaning pots, pans and other cookware.
• Cleaning kitchen equipment using the provided dishwashing equipment.
• Separating dirty and clean kitchen items properly.
• Checking washed items and ensuring they are sufficiently clean.
• Returning clean items to the correct storage or working areas.
• Ensuring that the kitchen team has sufficient clean equipment during operations.

Dishwashing Area Maintenance

The Dishwasher is also responsible for keeping the assigned dishwashing station clean and organized.

Responsibilities include:

• Keeping the dishwashing area clean and dry.
• Maintaining an organized washing station.
• Clearing used dishes and kitchen equipment from designated areas.
• Keeping sinks and surrounding work areas clean.
• Following the correct procedures when using dishwashing equipment.
• Informing the supervisor if equipment or facilities require attention.
• Ensuring the work area remains safe and free from unnecessary items.

General Kitchen Cleaning

The role may also involve assisting with general cleaning duties around the kitchen.

These duties may include:

• Cleaning kitchen surfaces.
• Maintaining cleanliness around workstations.
• Assisting with cleaning equipment and surrounding areas.
• Clearing rubbish and food waste.
• Supporting kitchen staff with basic cleaning tasks.
• Keeping shared working areas neat and hygienic.
• Following the outlet’s cleaning schedule and instructions.

Rubbish Disposal

The Dishwasher may be required to handle and dispose of rubbish generated during kitchen operations.

This includes:

• Collecting rubbish from designated kitchen areas.
• Separating waste where required.
• Transporting rubbish safely to the designated refuse collection point.
• Following the shopping mall’s waste disposal procedures.
• Keeping rubbish areas clean and orderly.

Kitchen Team Support

During busy periods, the Dishwasher will work together with kitchen staff to ensure smooth restaurant operations.

The successful candidate may be required to:

• Support kitchen staff with basic operational duties.
• Ensure clean plates and equipment are available when needed.
• Clear used kitchen items efficiently.
• Assist with maintaining the overall cleanliness of the kitchen.
• Respond to instructions from the Outlet Manager.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the management team.

HYGIENE AND FOOD SAFETY

All employees are expected to follow the company’s hygiene and food safety procedures.

The Dishwasher must:

• Maintain good personal hygiene.
• Keep the work area clean.
• Handle kitchen equipment appropriately.
• Follow food safety instructions.
• Follow cleaning procedures.
• Keep clean and dirty items separated.
• Follow workplace safety requirements.
• Report any safety or cleanliness concerns to the supervisor.
• Maintain the required standards throughout the shift.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The position is based at Jewel Changi Airport, within a busy restaurant and kitchen environment.

The kitchen may become particularly busy during lunch, dinner, weekends, public holidays and peak travel periods. Candidates should therefore be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and maintaining a consistent working pace during busy periods.

The job involves frequent standing, walking and handling kitchen items. Candidates should be physically fit and comfortable performing repetitive dishwashing and cleaning duties throughout the working day.

Teamwork is also important because the Dishwasher will work closely with kitchen crew, service staff and the Outlet Manager.

WORKING SCHEDULE

Full-Time

6 Days Per Week

The position may require employees to work according to shift schedules arranged by the outlet.

Candidates should be prepared to work:

• Morning shifts
• Afternoon shifts
• Evening shifts
• Weekend shifts
• Public holiday shifts

Shift timings may vary depending on the outlet’s operational requirements.

SALARY

$2,100–$2,300/Month
