JOB OPPORTUNITY
We are currently looking for a responsible, hardworking, and physically fit Canteen Helper cum Office Cleaner to join our team in Tuas, West Region, Singapore.
This position is suitable for candidates who are looking for a job with a structured 5-day work week and are comfortable handling a combination of canteen, pantry, office cleaning, housekeeping, and general support duties.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen, pantry, office, toilets, and common areas. ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Canteen Helper cum Office Cleaner, you will be responsible for helping to maintain a clean, organised, hygienic, and comfortable workplace.
The position combines two main areas of responsibility.
The first area is assisting with the daily operation and cleanliness of the canteen and pantry. This includes washing utensils and kitchen equipment, cleaning tables and work surfaces, keeping sinks and pantry areas clean, refilling supplies, emptying rubbish bins, and reporting any damaged equipment or shortage of supplies.
The second area is general office cleaning and housekeeping. This includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming when required, wiping tables and furniture, emptying rubbish bins, cleaning toilets and wash basins, replenishing toilet supplies, and ensuring office and common areas remain clean and presentable.
You may also be asked to perform other reasonable duties related to cleaning, pantry support, housekeeping, or general workplace maintenance according to the instructions of the supervisor.
A. CANTEEN AND PANTRY DUTIES
The candidate will assist in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of the canteen and pantry areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Wash kitchen utensils after use and ensure they are properly cleaned before being stored.
- Wash cups, plates, bowls, cutlery, containers, and other commonly used kitchen items.
- Clean kitchen equipment and surrounding areas according to workplace requirements.
- Clean tables and countertops regularly to ensure they remain free from food waste, stains, and dirt.
- Clean sinks and washing areas and ensure they are kept hygienic.
- Wipe pantry countertops, shelves, tables, and other surfaces.
- Keep the pantry area clean, tidy, and properly organised.
- Refill pantry supplies when required.
- Check commonly used pantry items and inform the supervisor when supplies are running low.
- Ensure pantry items are stored properly and neatly.
- Empty rubbish bins regularly and dispose of waste according to workplace procedures.
- Replace rubbish bin liners when required.
- Clean up food waste, spills, stains, and other messes promptly.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic environment around food preparation and pantry areas.
- Keep washing areas free from unnecessary items and rubbish.

B. OFFICE CLEANING DUTIES
The candidate will also be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout assigned office areas.
Office cleaning responsibilities may include:
- Sweep office floors regularly.
- Mop floors to maintain a clean and hygienic working environment.
- Vacuum floors, carpets, or other areas when required.
- Remove dust and dirt from floors and commonly used surfaces.
- Wipe office tables and desks.
- Wipe chairs and other furniture.
- Clean shelves, cabinets, and other accessible surfaces.
- Clean common areas used by employees and visitors.
- Empty rubbish bins throughout assigned office areas.
- Replace rubbish bin liners when necessary.

- Keep corridors and common areas clean and free from rubbish.
- Clean spills or dirty areas when they are noticed.

This can include checking the pantry, canteen, office areas, toilets, wash basins, rubbish bins, floors, tables, and other common areas.
During the day, the candidate will perform regular cleaning tasks and respond to additional cleaning requirements when necessary.
The candidate should also monitor the availability of cleaning supplies, pantry items, toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, rubbish bin liners, and other workplace supplies.
If supplies are running low, the candidate should inform the supervisor so that the required items can be replenished.
If any equipment, fixture, facility, or workplace area is damaged, the candidate should report the issue to the supervisor instead of attempting to repair equipment without authorisation.
At the end of assigned tasks, cleaning tools and equipment should be properly stored and the assigned areas should be left clean and organised.
