We are currently looking for suitable Singaporean candidates to join our kitchen teams at nursing homes and welfare homes in Singapore.
This is an opportunity for candidates with kitchen, cooking, food preparation, catering, hospital, nursing home, or other professional food service experience.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The kitchens are based in nursing homes and welfare homes in Singapore.
The kitchen team is responsible for supporting daily meal preparation and food production. Staff will work together with Chefs, Commis Cooks, Kitchen Assistants, and other kitchen personnel to prepare food according to the required menu and production schedule.
Candidates should be comfortable working in a professional kitchen environment and following instructions from the Chef or senior kitchen staff.
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED
Candidates with previous experience in heavy cooking are preferred.
Relevant experience includes:

KITCHEN ASSISTANT
Kitchen Assistants will support the kitchen team with general daily kitchen operations.
Main duties may include:
• Assisting with food preparation
• Washing and preparing ingredients
• Chopping vegetables
• Cutting meat and other ingredients
• Preparing seafood
• Preparing vegetarian food items
• Packing food
• Assisting with food production
• Assisting Chefs during busy periods
• Cleaning kitchen stations

COMMIS COOK
Commis Cooks will assist the Chef and senior kitchen team with daily food production.
Duties may include:
• Preparing ingredients

• Preparing vegetarian ingredients
• Chopping and cutting ingredients
• Assisting with cooking
• Preparing dishes according to instructions
• Packing cooked food
• Maintaining kitchen cleanliness
• Assisting with stock rotation
• Supporting the Chef during daily production
• Learning different dishes and cooking procedures
• Following menu specifications
COOK
Cooks will be responsible for preparing and cooking food according to the assigned menu and instructions from the Chef or senior kitchen personnel.
Responsibilities may include:
• Preparing raw ingredients
• Cooking food for daily meal production
• Preparing vegetables, meat and seafood
• Preparing vegetarian dishes
• Following recipes and menu specifications
• Maintaining food quality
• Assisting with food preparation planning
• Supporting other kitchen staff
• Checking prepared food
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene
• Informing the Chef about excess food items
• Following daily production requirements
SOUS CHEF
Experienced Sous Chefs are welcome to apply.
Depending on experience and assigned responsibilities, the Sous Chef may assist with:
• Daily kitchen operations
• Food preparation

• Coordinating kitchen staff
• Supporting the Chef
• Checking food preparation
• Following menu specifications
• Maintaining food quality
• Monitoring kitchen cleanliness
• Assisting with stock management

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
FOOD PREPARATION
• Assist in all food preparation processes.
• Prepare raw and cooked food materials.
• Wash and prepare vegetables.
• Prepare meat and seafood.
• Prepare vegetarian food items.
• Chop and cut ingredients according to kitchen requirements.
• Portion ingredients when required.
• Prepare ingredients before cooking.
• Pack food products when required.
• Follow preparation instructions from the Chef.
• Ensure ingredients are properly handled.
• Assist with daily meal production.
• Support other kitchen staff during food preparation.
COOKING AND FOOD PRODUCTION
• Cook and prepare food according to the daily menu.
• Follow recipes and cooking instructions.
• Prepare different dishes according to menu specifications.
• Handle raw and cooked food properly.
• Assist with large-scale meal preparation.
• Ensure food is prepared according to the required standards.
• Support the Chef and senior kitchen staff.
• Assist other cooks during busy periods.
• Learn different dishes from other Chefs.
• Follow instructions from higher-level kitchen personnel.
• Maintain consistency during daily food production.
HEAVY COOKING
Candidates with heavy cooking experience are especially encouraged to apply.
Experience in preparing meals in large quantities will be an advantage, particularly for candidates who have previously worked in catering companies, nursing homes, hospitals, welfare homes, institutional kitchens, or other high-volume food production environments.
Candidates should be familiar with working efficiently during daily food production and handling multiple preparation tasks as part of a kitchen team.
STOCK AND INVENTORY SUPPORT
Staff may also be required to assist with basic stock-related duties.
Responsibilities may include:
• Helping with deliveries.
• Receiving and arranging food supplies.
• Replenishing kitchen stocks.
• Assisting with stock rotation.
• Organizing ingredients.
• Keeping storage areas neat.
• Checking available ingredients.
• Informing the Chef when supplies are running low.
• Arranging food products in the appropriate storage areas.
• Ensuring ingredients are properly organized.
CLEANING AND HYGIENE
Maintaining kitchen cleanliness is an important part of the position.
Staff will be expected to:
• Keep kitchen stations clean.
• Clean preparation areas.
• Maintain clean working surfaces.
• Clean equipment and designated areas when required.
• Dispose of waste properly.
• Keep ingredients and supplies organized.
• Follow proper food hygiene practices.
• Follow kitchen cleanliness procedures.
• Maintain good personal hygiene.
• Keep the kitchen environment safe and organized.
• Assist with cleaning duties during and after food production.
FOOD SAFETY
Candidates must follow the kitchen’s food handling and hygiene procedures.
This includes:
• Handling food properly.
• Keeping raw and cooked food appropriately separated.
• Maintaining cleanliness during preparation.
• Following instructions from senior kitchen staff.
• Keeping food preparation areas clean.
• Following workplace food safety procedures.
• Maintaining good hygiene when handling ingredients and prepared food.
FOOD LOGS AND PRODUCTION RECORDS
Staff may be required to assist with maintaining food logs and other kitchen records.
Responsibilities may include:
• Recording required food information.
• Following daily food production procedures.
• Maintaining food preparation records.
• Informing the Chef about excess food items.
• Informing the Chef about products that may be used in daily production.
• Following instructions regarding food usage and production.
KITCHEN TEAMWORK
The successful candidate will work as part of a kitchen team.
Staff should be able to:
• Work together with other kitchen employees.
• Follow instructions from the Chef.
• Assist colleagues when required.
• Communicate properly with other kitchen staff.
• Help during busy kitchen periods.
• Support daily food production.

• Follow the kitchen’s daily work arrangement.
MENU AND DISH PREPARATION
Staff will be expected to follow the food menu and preparation requirements provided by the higher-level Chef.
Duties may include:
• Preparing ingredients according to menu requirements.
• Preparing dishes according to instructions.
• Following specified preparation methods.
• Assisting with different dishes.
• Learning new dishes from experienced Chefs.
• Maintaining proper food preparation procedures.
• Ensuring prepared food meets the required specifications.
WORKING DAYS AND SCHEDULE
Full-Time employees are required to work 6 days per week.
Working hours and working days will be based on the roster.
The actual schedule may depend on the operational requirements of the assigned nursing home or welfare home kitchen.
Part-Time positions are also available for suitable candidates.
Candidates should be prepared to follow the assigned work schedule and roster.
