JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for suitable candidates to join the team as Dishwasher / Stewarding Crew. This is a part-time position suitable for individuals who are looking for flexible working opportunities and are comfortable working in a kitchen, banquet or food service environment.

The position does not require previous experience. Candidates who are new to kitchen or stewarding work may apply, as training and job instructions will be provided. Applicants should be responsible, punctual and willing to carry out cleaning, washing and general kitchen support duties according to workplace procedures.

The main responsibility of the role is to ensure that plates, cups, cutlery, pots, pans and other kitchen equipment are properly washed, cleaned and returned to the appropriate storage areas. The stewarding crew also helps maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dishwashing area.

This position involves active and physical work. Candidates should be comfortable standing for long periods, moving around the kitchen, handling kitchen equipment and working during busy periods.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Dishwashing Duties

• Wash plates, bowls, cups, glasses and cutlery after use.
• Clean pots, pans, trays and other kitchen equipment.
• Operate the dishwasher according to the required procedures.
• Ensure that all items are properly cleaned before being returned for use.
• Rewash items when they are not sufficiently clean.
• Separate different types of kitchen equipment before washing.
• Handle kitchen utensils and equipment carefully to prevent damage.
• Maintain an efficient flow of clean and used kitchen items.

Kitchen Equipment Handling

• Sort clean plates, cups, cutlery, pots and pans.
• Arrange cleaned items in their designated storage areas.
• Return kitchen equipment to the correct locations.
• Keep storage areas organized and accessible.
• Assist kitchen staff when additional clean equipment is required.
• Ensure used equipment is moved promptly to the washing area.

Cleaning & Hygiene

• Keep the dishwashing station clean and tidy.
• Clean surrounding kitchen areas when required.
• Remove rubbish and food waste properly.
• Maintain cleanliness around sinks, washing areas and storage spaces.
• Follow workplace hygiene and cleanliness procedures.
• Keep floors and working areas free from unnecessary items.
• Assist with general cleaning duties assigned by the supervisor.

General Kitchen Support

• Support kitchen staff during busy operating periods.
• Assist with basic stewarding tasks as required.
• Follow instructions from supervisors and senior kitchen staff.
• Work together with other team members to complete daily duties.
• Assist with preparation and clearing of kitchen equipment.
• Perform other reasonable ad-hoc duties related to kitchen operations.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The successful candidate will work in a busy kitchen or food service environment. The workplace may become particularly active during lunch, dinner, banquet functions or other peak operating periods.

Candidates should be prepared to work efficiently while maintaining proper cleanliness and safety standards. The position requires frequent standing and movement, as well as handling plates, kitchen equipment, pots, pans and other items.

Good teamwork is important because the stewarding team works closely with kitchen staff, service staff and supervisors to ensure that clean equipment is available and the kitchen remains organized.

Candidates should also be able to remain focused during busy periods and follow instructions from supervisors regarding work priorities.

WORKING HOURS

This is a part-time position with available shifts depending on the selected location, schedule and operational requirements.

Candidates may be required to work:

• Weekday shifts
• Weekend shifts
• Evening shifts
• Late-night shifts
• Public holiday shifts when required

Working hours and shift availability may vary. Candidates should confirm the available slots and working hours with the hiring representative before accepting a shift.

For shifts that finish after midnight, transport is provided after 12AM according to the applicable arrangement.

SALARY

Hourly Rate: $13–$14/Hour

Average Rate: $13–$14/Hour

Maximum Rate: Up to $14/Hour

The actual hourly rate may depend on the selected work slot and assignment.

PAYMENT

One of the benefits of this position is Next-Day Pay.

Eligible completed shifts are paid on the following day according to the applicable payment arrangement.

MEAL & TRANSPORT

Working Meal: Provided

A working meal is provided during eligible shifts according to the work arrangement.

Transport: Provided after 12AM

Transport support is available for applicable shifts ending after midnight.

Candidates should confirm the exact transport arrangement, pickup point and eligibility with the hiring representative when receiving their shift details.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• No previous experience required.

NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Previous experience in dishwashing, stewarding, kitchen operations or food service is not required for this position.
