ABOUT THE ROLE
The Enrolled Nurse / EMT will support the delivery of safe and professional pre-hospital medical care and patient transportation services.
The role involves assisting patients who require emergency or non-emergency transportation to healthcare facilities. Depending on the circumstances, the successful candidate may assist with patient assessment, monitoring, basic medical care, patient handling, documentation, equipment preparation, and communication with healthcare professionals.
The position requires a high level of responsibility because patients may have different medical conditions, mobility requirements, and levels of urgency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting safe and effective patient care and transportation operations.

- PRE-HOSPITAL PATIENT CARE
Provide appropriate pre-hospital emergency and non-emergency patient care according to training, qualifications, established procedures, and applicable professional requirements.
Assist patients who require medical transportation and ensure that they receive appropriate support throughout the journey.
Provide assistance to patients before, during, and after transportation when required.
Ensure patients are treated with dignity, respect, patience, and compassion at all times.
- PATIENT ASSESSMENT AND MONITORING
Assist with patient assessment and monitoring according to the requirements of the case.
Observe patients carefully during transportation and identify changes in their condition.
Monitor relevant patient information and promptly communicate significant changes or concerns to the appropriate healthcare personnel.
Provide assistance with patient treatment and medical support within the appropriate scope of practice.
- SAFE PATIENT TRANSPORTATION
Ensure patients are transported safely and appropriately to hospitals, clinics, medical centres, and other healthcare facilities.
Assist with transferring and positioning patients safely when required.
Use appropriate patient-handling techniques and equipment.
Ensure patients are properly secured and comfortable during transportation.
Take appropriate precautions to minimize risks and ensure patient safety throughout the journey.
- EMERGENCY RESPONSE
Respond professionally and efficiently to emergency situations.
Remain calm and focused when dealing with patients who are injured, seriously ill, distressed, or experiencing medical emergencies.
Provide appropriate assistance according to training and established emergency procedures.
Work closely with other team members and healthcare professionals during emergency response situations.
- MEDICAL EQUIPMENT AND AMBULANCE READINESS
Ensure medical equipment is properly prepared and available when required.
Conduct routine checks of medical supplies, equipment, and emergency items.
Ensure equipment is clean, organized, functional, and ready for deployment.
Report missing, damaged, expired, or faulty medical supplies and equipment.
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness, hygiene, safety, and readiness of the ambulance and related equipment.
- COMMUNICATION AND TEAMWORK
Work closely with the operations team to ensure smooth and efficient patient transportation.
Coordinate with healthcare professionals, hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare partners when necessary.
Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and their family members.
Provide relevant information to the appropriate personnel regarding patient condition, transportation, and other operational matters.
Work cooperatively with colleagues and support team members when required.
- DOCUMENTATION AND RECORD KEEPING
Complete relevant patient care, transportation, and operational documentation accurately.
Ensure important information is recorded properly and in a timely manner.
Maintain confidentiality of patient and medical information.
Follow applicable documentation, reporting, and record-keeping procedures.
- SAFETY AND PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
Follow company policies, healthcare procedures, workplace safety requirements, and relevant operational guidelines.
Maintain high standards of personal and professional conduct.
Prioritize patient safety, comfort, privacy, and dignity.
Ensure that all assigned duties are performed responsibly and professionally.
Report safety concerns, incidents, equipment problems, or other operational issues to the appropriate personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

• Possess relevant healthcare or emergency medical qualifications.
• Relevant certification such as EMT and/or SNB is required according to the applicable position and professional requirements.
• Nurses must possess a valid practicing license where applicable.
