JOB OVERVIEW

We are currently looking for reliable and hardworking Catering Set Up Assistants to join a halal catering team based in the Tai Seng area. This position involves supporting the catering crew with the preparation, setup, clearing and packing of catering equipment and supplies at different event locations.

The successful candidates will work together with assigned drivers and other catering staff. The team will travel from the company headquarters to various event venues, assist with setting up the catering area, support the team during the event preparation process and help clear the equipment once the event has finished.

This is a suitable opportunity for candidates who are comfortable with hands-on work, working in a team environment and travelling to different event locations according to the daily schedule.

MAIN JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

1. EVENT TRANSPORTATION AND SETUP

Assist the assigned catering driver when travelling to event locations around Singapore.

Follow the driver’s instructions and ensure that the required catering equipment and supplies are brought to the assigned venue.

Assist with unloading catering equipment, tables, containers, food-related items and other necessary materials from the vehicle.

Help transport catering equipment from the vehicle to the designated setup area.

Ensure that items are handled carefully during loading, unloading and transportation.

Work together with the catering team to complete the event setup according to the instructions provided by the supervisor.

2. CATERING AREA SETUP

Assist in preparing the event area before guests arrive.

Help arrange tables, catering equipment, serving stations and other required items according to the event setup plan.

Ensure that the catering area is properly organised and ready for service.

Assist with positioning equipment and supplies in the appropriate areas.

Follow instructions from the supervisor regarding the arrangement and preparation of the catering setup.

Maintain a neat and organised working area throughout the setup process.

3. EVENT SUPPORT

Provide general support to the catering team during event preparation.

Assist team members when additional equipment or supplies are required.

Communicate with the driver and other crew members to ensure that the setup process is completed efficiently.

Follow workplace procedures and instructions provided by the company.

Work carefully and responsibly when handling catering equipment and supplies.

Maintain good teamwork and cooperation with other staff members throughout the assignment.

4. CLEARING AFTER EVENTS

Assist with clearing the catering area after the event has ended.

Collect tables, equipment, containers and other catering-related items.

Help pack equipment and supplies properly before they are returned to the vehicle.

Assist with loading all required items back into the vehicle.

Check that important catering equipment and supplies are not left behind at the event venue.

Keep the work area reasonably clean and organised during the clearing process.

5. RETURN TO COMPANY HEADQUARTERS

After completing the assigned event duties, staff will follow the assigned driver back to the company headquarters at Tai Seng.

Assist with unloading and returning catering equipment and supplies to the appropriate areas at the HQ when required.

Follow instructions from the supervisor regarding the return and storage of equipment.

WORKING HOURS

Staff are scheduled to work approximately 4–6 days per week.

Daily working hours are approximately 5–10 hours, depending on the assigned catering events.

Because the work is event-based, the exact start and finish times may vary depending on the location, event requirements, setup duration and clearing time.

Some assignments may begin earlier or finish later depending on the event schedule.

Weekend and public holiday work may be required when catering events are scheduled.

Candidates should therefore be comfortable with flexible working hours and changing event schedules.

SALARY DETAILS

The basic hourly rate is $15 per hour.

Eligible overtime work is paid at $22.50 per hour.

Work performed on public holidays is paid at $30 per hour.

Salary is paid every two weeks, providing employees with regular salary payouts.

Actual earnings will depend on the number of working days, total working hours, overtime hours and public holiday assignments.
