Location: Orchard, Singapore

Employment Type: Contract (1 Year)

Salary: SGD $2,500 – $2,800 per month

Work Schedule

  • 5-Day Work Week
  • Total Working Hours: 42 Hours Per Week

Working Hours
Monday – Friday
8:00 AM – 6:00 PM

Saturday, Sunday & Public Holidays
8:00 AM – 2:00 PM / 4:00 PM / 5:00 PM (Based on Duty Roster)


About the Position

A reputable healthcare institution in Singapore is looking for motivated and responsible individuals to join the team as a Hospital Patient Account Officer. This position is ideal for candidates who are interested in hospital administration, finance, customer service, and healthcare support.

As a Patient Account Officer, you will become an important part of the hospital’s finance and patient services department. Your primary responsibility is to ensure patients receive accurate billing information while providing professional assistance during admission and discharge processes.

Key Responsibilities

Your daily duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Perform patient billing and cashiering duties accurately.
  • Prepare hospital bills for patients upon discharge.
  • Present bills to patients at their bedside for payment collection.
  • Ensure all medical charges are processed correctly before payment.
  • Verify doctors’ consultation fees, treatment charges, medication fees and other hospital services.
  • Ensure every patient’s bill is complete, accurate and submitted on time.
  • Process payments using approved payment methods.
  • Issue official payment receipts.
  • Explain billing details clearly and professionally to patients and family members.
  • Handle billing enquiries with patience and professionalism.
  • Investigate billing discrepancies and resolve payment disputes.
  • Liaise with doctors, nurses and various hospital departments regarding billing matters.
  • Apply approved discounts according to hospital policies.
  • Prepare supporting documents for discounts and billing adjustments.
  • Update patient account records in the hospital system.
  • Handle billing-related emails from patients and internal departments.
  • Answer incoming telephone enquiries regarding patient accounts.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.
  • Ensure confidential patient information is protected at all times.
  • Follow hospital financial procedures and compliance requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining professionalism.
  • Assist supervisors with administrative duties whenever required.
  • Support the finance department during busy operational periods.
  • Ensure daily billing transactions are completed within required timelines.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in every financial transaction.

Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum NITEC, Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous administrative or customer service experience will be an advantage but is not compulsory.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
