Location: Central Region, Singapore

Monthly Salary: SGD $2,000 – $2,800

We are currently seeking motivated and responsible individuals to join our team as an IT Desktop / Project Engineer. As an IT Desktop / Project Engineer, you will play an important role in ensuring that computer systems, software, and IT equipment operate efficiently for end users. You will be responsible for providing first-level technical support, preparing computer workstations, deploying IT equipment, maintaining hardware and software, and assisting users with technical issues. You will also work closely with other IT professionals to support various deployment projects across different locations in Singapore.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide first-level technical support for desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, scanners, and other computer peripherals.

• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and application-related issues.

• Install, configure, and prepare desktop computers and laptops for new and existing users.

• Set up complete workstations, including monitors, keyboards, mice, docking stations, printers, and other peripheral devices.

• Install and configure Microsoft Windows operating systems.

• Install and update software applications according to company requirements.

• Perform system configuration and basic software installation.

• Assist users with Microsoft Office applications such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and PowerPoint.

• Support users by identifying technical problems and providing appropriate solutions.

• Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers whenever necessary.

• Perform deployment and retrieval of desktops, laptops, monitors, and IT peripherals for different projects.

• Prepare devices before deployment by checking hardware functionality and ensuring software is properly installed.

• Maintain proper documentation for deployment, retrieval, relocation, replacement, and disposal of IT equipment.

• Ensure all IT assets are properly labelled, recorded, and updated in the company’s asset management system.

• Conduct inventory checks and assist in maintaining accurate records of all company IT assets.

• Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime.

• Replace faulty hardware components whenever required.

• Assist with desktop relocation and office movement projects.

• Ensure all workstations are functioning properly before handover to end users.

• Maintain cable management and workstation organization.

• Ensure compliance with company IT policies and security procedures.

• Provide friendly, professional, and timely customer support.

• Respond to support requests promptly and professionally.

• Keep accurate service records and update support tickets accordingly.

• Coordinate with project teams during deployment exercises.

• Support IT refresh projects involving replacement of desktops and laptops.

• Assist in software migration and hardware upgrade activities.

• Support routine IT housekeeping activities.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of IT equipment.

• Perform regular checks on hardware conditions.

• Assist with logistics coordination involving IT equipment movement.

• Maintain confidentiality of company information and user data.

• Work closely with team members to ensure all assigned tasks are completed efficiently.

• Perform any other IT-related duties assigned by supervisors.

Requirements

Candidates interested in this position should meet the following requirements:

• Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident (PR) only.

• Previous experience in desktop support, IT support, service desk, or technical support is preferred but not compulsory.

• Minimum qualification of NITEC or Diploma.

• Candidates with IT-related qualifications will have an added advantage.

• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10 operating system.

• Familiar with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.

• Basic understanding of desktop computers, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripheral devices.

• Able to troubleshoot common hardware and software issues.

• Possess good communication and interpersonal skills.
