ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Kitchen Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting the daily operations of the kitchen. You will work closely with the kitchen team to ensure food is prepared efficiently, safely, and according to company standards. Maintaining cleanliness, food quality, and excellent hygiene practices will be part of your daily responsibilities.
This position is suitable for individuals who enjoy practical work, have a positive attitude, and are willing to contribute to a productive kitchen environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assist with daily food preparation before operating hours.
• Wash, clean, peel, cut, and prepare vegetables, meat, seafood, poultry, and other ingredients.
• Measure and portion ingredients according to recipes and kitchen requirements.
• Prepare sauces, seasonings, garnishes, and other basic food items.
• Assist chefs and cooks during meal preparation and service periods.
• Ensure ingredients are prepared on time to support efficient kitchen operations.
• Refill ingredients and cooking supplies whenever required.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen counters, preparation areas, shelves, and workstations.
• Wash dishes, trays, utensils, pots, pans, chopping boards, and kitchen equipment.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and according to instructions.
• Ensure proper storage of ingredients using First-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices whenever applicable.
• Label and organize food products correctly.
• Monitor food freshness and immediately report any damaged or expired products.
• Receive deliveries from suppliers and verify incoming stock.
• Arrange and organize inventory in refrigerators, freezers, and dry storage areas.
• Assist with stock counting and inventory management.
• Dispose of kitchen waste properly and maintain a clean working environment.
• Follow all food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Comply with Halal food preparation requirements and company policies.
• Support smooth kitchen operations during busy meal periods.
• Assist with opening and closing duties.
• Work closely with team members to ensure efficient service.
• Complete any additional duties assigned by supervisors or management.
