We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and passionate Korean Gukbap Soup Chef to join our expanding restaurant team in Singapore. Position Overview

As a Korean Gukbap Soup Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and cooking of authentic Korean soup dishes while ensuring every meal meets our quality standards. You will work closely with the management team and other kitchen staff to maintain efficient operations, uphold food safety standards, and create an outstanding dining experience for every customer.

You will also be expected to demonstrate professionalism, maintain excellent kitchen organization, and contribute ideas that help improve food quality and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare authentic Korean Gukbap and other traditional Korean soup dishes according to standardized recipes.

• Ensure consistency in taste, portion size, presentation, and overall food quality.

• Select, prepare, and handle ingredients using proper Korean cooking techniques.

• Monitor food preparation processes to maintain the highest quality standards.

• Ensure all ingredients are fresh and stored correctly according to food safety regulations.

• Prepare stocks, broths, sauces, side dishes, and supporting ingredients required for daily operations.

• Manage food preparation schedules to ensure timely service during operating hours.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic kitchen at all times.

• Follow all food hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.

• Conduct regular quality checks on ingredients and finished products.

• Minimize food waste through proper inventory control and efficient preparation methods.

• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate ingredient replenishment when necessary.

• Assist in receiving, inspecting, and organizing incoming food supplies.

• Ensure proper labeling, storage, and rotation of all food products using FIFO practices.

• Work closely with kitchen assistants and other chefs to ensure smooth daily operations.

• Support menu development and recipe improvement where appropriate.

• Maintain accurate preparation standards for all menu items.

• Ensure kitchen equipment is used correctly and maintained in good working condition.

• Report equipment issues promptly to management.

• Assist in training newly hired kitchen staff.

• Provide guidance to junior team members on food preparation techniques and kitchen procedures.

• Help establish efficient kitchen workflows and operational systems.

• Maintain a positive working relationship with all team members.

• Perform additional duties assigned by management to support business operations.

Candidate Requirements

Applicants should possess strong culinary knowledge and relevant experience in Korean cuisine, particularly Korean soup preparation.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to maintain high-quality standards under pressure.

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Fluent in Korean.

• Previous experience preparing authentic Korean Gukbap and traditional Korean soup dishes.

• Strong understanding of Korean ingredients, seasonings, and cooking methods.

• Experience working in Korean restaurants or commercial kitchens is highly preferred.

• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Work Permit Eligibility

This position is available under the Singapore Work Permit (North Asian Sources Scheme).

Applicants from South Korea who meet the applicable eligibility requirements, including possession of a High School Certificate, are encouraged to apply.
