URGENT HIRING – PRESCHOOL RELIEF COOK / CLEANER

We are looking for responsible, hardworking, and reliable candidates to support the daily kitchen and housekeeping operations while helping to maintain a safe, clean, and hygienic environment for children and staff.

This position is suitable for individuals who enjoy cooking, food preparation, cleaning, and working in a structured environment. As part of the preschool support team, you will assist in preparing meals, maintaining cleanliness throughout the kitchen and school premises, and ensuring daily operations run smoothly. Previous experience is beneficial but not essential if you have the right attitude and are willing to follow instructions carefully.

This is an ad-hoc opportunity with weekday working hours, making it suitable for individuals seeking flexible part-time employment during the specified work period.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare ingredients before meal preparation begins.
• Cook meals according to the preschool’s daily menu and food preparation guidelines.
• Ensure meals are prepared safely and served on time.
• Assist with portioning and distributing food when required.
• Wash dishes, utensils, pots, pans, trays, and other kitchen equipment after use.
• Clean kitchen appliances, preparation tables, sinks, and food preparation areas.
• Ensure the kitchen remains clean, organized, and hygienic throughout the day.
• Carry out general housekeeping duties within the preschool.
• Sweep, mop, and maintain cleanliness of classrooms, common areas, and walkways when required.
• Clean floors and ensure all assigned areas remain tidy and presentable.
• Remove rubbish and dispose of waste according to workplace procedures.
• Replenish cleaning supplies whenever necessary.
• Follow all food safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace safety procedures.
• Report maintenance or cleanliness issues to supervisors when necessary.
• Work closely with teachers and other preschool staff to support daily operations.
• Carry out additional duties assigned by supervisors as required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Able to stand for extended periods due to the nature of the job.
• Comfortable performing cooking, cleaning, and housekeeping duties.
• Valid Food & Hygiene Certificate is required.
• Candidates selected will be required to submit a medical report before commencement of work.
• Previous experience in cooking, catering, kitchen operations, housekeeping, or cleaning is an advantage but not compulsory.
• Responsible, reliable, and hardworking.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Able to follow instructions carefully.
• Physically fit to carry out daily duties.
• Able to maintain high standards of personal hygiene and cleanliness.
